Lacey to See Monday Rain and Tuesday Mix

The precipitation that started as a surprising snowfall on Sunday afternoon will turn to rain on Sunday night and continue on Monday, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

With a high near 48 degrees on Monday, Lacey will see as much as another half-inch of rain on Monday, mainly before 3 p.m. Forecasters call for east wind of 7 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Rain and snow are likely on Tuesday, mainly after 10 a.m., with a high near 39 degrees and northwest wind 11 to 13 mph.

@Resident - Yeah I wish our town had a downtown district like the photo on this story...

Believe it or not, Lou Derezeno Lacey’s former community development officer in 1980's proposed preserving the historic district that included Rt. 9, Lacey Road, Bay Ave, Mill Street and more. The good old boys shot him down. JP, TH, JK,RS,GB, and others would not have benefited by preserving our historic district. FACT

@4Liberty - I'm new to Lacey...and would appreciate knowing more about the area you call "the historic district" - what makes the area you speak of "historic."
4Liberty December 09, 2013 at 07:22 PM
The historic district included the Victorian homes along Rt.9 starting at the Worden Home which was mover to Rt.9 and Jones Road. It sat at the site of the Lacey car wash now Asian restaurant which is next to the funk miniature golf course. East Lacey Road, Bay Ave. The Forked River Freezer and Old Church on Rt9 were Rite Aid and the Perkins are now at. Mill Street and more that would included the old Forked River School House, the old Forked River Fire House and town hall.

@4Liberty - do you know what was in the food bank building before it was a food bank? was it ever a Phone Company building? PS I know about the newer Phone Co building on Rt 9 but just wondering if the Food Bank was at one time a Telco building.

It was Bell Tel and gave it to the town for a dollar.
