June 22: Discovery Days, Summer Star Watch, Movies on the Beach

Events in and around Lacey Township

1. Discovery Days by the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences will be held on Long Beach Boulevard in Loveladies from 11 a.m. to noon. The event will feature lessons on nature, a coastal rain garden, critters of the wetlands, clams, oysters, birds and terrapin hatchery and alternative forms of energy.

2. Lectures-In-Song: Frank Sinatra will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Georgian Court University. Admission includes a multicourse dinner and a multimedia lecture with Fred Miller.

3. The Ocean Theatre Company presents Man of LaMancha in the Bengal Auditorium of Barnegat High School at 8 p.m. The show is a musical inspired by Don Quixote.

4. Locals can join Robert J. Novins Planetarium staff and members of the Astronomical Society for a summer star watch. The night sky will be observed through a variety of telescopes at Ocean County College from 8 to 10:30 p.m.

5. Movies on the Beach begins at dark on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach.
