July 6: A Huge Yard Sale, A Sea Life Adventure, A Lesson in Astronomy Myths

Things to do around Lacey and beyond

Looking for something different to today? Here's five suggestions:

1. Turn a trip to the beach to a trip to adventure by checking out one of the nature programs offered at Island Beach State Park. Learn about horseshoe crabs up close at noon, experience seining the bay at 1 p.m. (register at the Pavilion at Ocean Bathing Beach 1) or learn about Barnegat Bay's food chain. Free with park entrance fee.

2. Learn about the myths and misconceptions about astronomy at the Novins Planetarium at Ocean County College. 2:30 p.m.

4. Cool off at the Lacey Branch of the Ocean County Library while you make a craft to take home. Noon-2 p.m.
