Fun-Filled Saturday Ahead For Lacey Township

With summer winding down, be sure to enjoy what's left of it. Saturday will be a busy day for Lacey Township as many community groups are holding events.

Jersey Fresh Farmers’ Market
The Jersey Fresh Farmers’ Market is only open for four more weeks.

Stop by Community Hall in Forked River from noon to 5 p.m. to purchase fresh produce including vegetables and fruit.

Saturday:

Fishing Tournament
The Forked River Tuna Club is holding their 54th annual tournament Aug. 20 to Aug. 27. Contestants will be catching fluke and bluefish.

Admission is $40 for each category, $55 for fluke and bluefish combo, and $25 for the junior category.

The awards picnic will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. The ceremony will include hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue chicken, Coney Island sausages, corn on the cob and salads.

Each registered angler will receive two picnic tickets but additional tickets are available.

Flea Market
The will be holding a community flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Refreshments will be available and the church’s thrift store will also be open.

This event is held monthly. Vendors can purchase space for $10 and a table for $5.

 

Caribbean Night
The will be holding Caribbean Night from 6 to 10 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Stop by the Lacey Elks Pavilion to enjoy Caribbean cuisine and entertainment by the Beach Bumz of Baltimore, MD.  The Beach Bumz are a Beach Tribute Band and will be performing music from Jimmy Buffett, the Beach Boys, and more.

Admission is $20 per person and includes the opportunity to win a door prize.

The event is sponsored by the Lacey Elks Bartenders. All proceeds will benefit the Lacey Elks Charitable Committee, who provides financial assistance to special needs children, veterans, and local youth activities.

Summer Bazaar
The Woman’s Club of Lacey Summer Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Community Hall.

The theme of the event is “Christmas in August” and will include a variety of vendors. Food will also be available.

Admission is free.
