Aug. 16: Flea Market, Movie Nights, Sand-Sculpting Contest

1. There is a flea market at 10th and Shore Avenue in Ship Bottom from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2. Teens ages 13 to 18 years old can stop by the at Teen Movie Night at 6:30 p.m.

3. There’s a sand-sculpting contest at 25th Street on Long Beach Island at 2 p.m.

4. There’s a drive in movie at Windward Beach in Brick Township at 9 p.m. Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be showing. The food court and DJ for each showing begins at 5 p.m. Shuttle buses run from drum Point School, Midstreams Elementary School and Brick High School from 5 to 8 p.m. continuously. Return trips begin at 9 p.m.

5. The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences is holding Date Night in the Food Studio. From 6 to 9:30 p.m., those interested can learn how to prepare a four-course meal from start to finish with Thomas Scangarello.
