Another Winter Punch

After numerous near knock-out blows, winter will be providing another round of hazardous conditions this week.

If this were a boxing ring, winter has been throwing us punch after punch.

After surviving winter’s near knock-out blow with its Dec. 26 massive blizzard and making it through a weekend full of disruptive snowfalls there is another powerful system heading our way.

Currently, this storm system is producing crippling ice problems in the south as it has its eyes set on the northeast next.

As this storm develops and strengthens along the New Jersey coast we will have to keep a close eye on the exact track of the storm. This will determine whether or not mixing of snow, sleet, and rain may be a factor. If no mixing occurs, snow totals will be higher (possibly around 6 inches or more). If mixing occurs, snow totals may be kept down to around 3-6 inches.

I will post comments below as the system approaches, updating you on the latest developments, so stay tuned. The remainder of the week will be pleasant once the left over snowflakes depart on Wednesday.

What would this winter be without another weather system lurking in the near future? Sunday night into Martin Luther King Day may bring yet another storm to our area.
