The Morning Call for Southern Ocean County for August 9, 2013

Hang on until Saturday and we'll finally see some sunshine. A decent summer weekend is shaping up at the Jersey Shore.

Today - Mostly cloudy with a high near 84 degrees. Winds will be from the southwest at 15 to 17 miles per hour. The National Weather Service says there's a 70 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms that could produce heavy rain and gusty winds.

Tonight - Mostly cloudy with a low near 70 degrees. Winds will be from the southwest at 7 to 11 miles per hour. There's a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday - Partly sunny with a high near 88 degrees. Winds will switch to the north at 7 miles per hour. There's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly before 8 a.m.
