The Morning Call for Southern Ocean County - August 20, 2013

A perfect late summer day, with warm temperatures and clear skies. If you're lucky enough to have the day off, head over to LBI or Island Beach State Park.

Today - The National Weather Services is calling for sunny skies with a high near 81 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 7 miles per hour, switching over to southwest in the afternoon.


Tonight -  Mostly clear with a low near 67 degrees. Winds will be from the southwest at 7 miles per hour.

Wednesday  - Sunny with a high near 87 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 6 to 8 miles per hour, switching over to the south in the afternoon.

Things to do:

Lighthouse Full Moon Climb, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Barnegat Lighthouse State Park. Volunteers of the Friends of Barnegat Lighthouse will be on hand to help visitors enjoy the view. • Barnegat Township Board of Education, 4:30 p.m., Barnegat High School.

• Evening film, "Life of Pi," 6 p.m., Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library, East Lacey Road. Film and snacks provided by the Friends of the Lacey Library.
