The Morning Call For Southern Ocean County - August 13, 2013

Get out your galoshes. Today will be very, very wet. Bad hair day. Maybe we need days like this to appreciate the terrific weather that will follow..

Today - The National Weather Service is calling for cloudy skies with a high of 79 degrees. Winds will be from the south at 7 to 11 miles per hour. There's a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with up to an inch of rainfall expected.

Tonight - Partly cloudy with a low near 65 degrees. Winds will be from the southwest at 6 to 8 miles per hour, switching over to cooler, drier northwest winds after midnight. There's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms until 1 a.m.

Wednesday - Perfect. Sunny with a high near 77 degrees. Winds will be from the northwest at 11 to 17 miles per hour.

Things to Do:

• The County Connections Mobile will be in the parking lot of the  Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library on East Lacey Road at 10 a.m.

• Barnegat Zoning Board,
7:30 p.m., municipal courtroom.

• Get your game on
at the Barnegat branch of the Ocean County Library, 112 Burr Street. Come play Wii, Xbox, PS3, card and board games. 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., ages 12 to 18.

• Meet the Mayor,
6:30 p.m., Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library, East Lacey Road. Come and discuss your concerns with Mayor David E. Most.

• Pasta Night, Italian-American Club of Stafford Towship,
5 p.m. to 7 p.m., 41 Dock Road, Cedar Run. Price is $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under.
