Ok, so here's a tip for Windows 7 or Windows Vista. If you're an Internet Explorer user you should have been upgraded to version IE9 by now, as it provides additional security measures over previous versions. If you haven't upgraded, I highly recommend you do so.
Now version 9, there is an additional measure of protection you can enable called Tracking Protection which will block ads from loading, speeding up your browsing experience and providing additional protection from viruses and malware as infected ads are a common avenue for infection.
It's very simple and takes just a couple of clicks. Just go to this site: http://www.iegallery.com/en-US/trackingprotectionlists and add a list. I recommend adding both "Fanboy - Adblock Tracking Protection List" and "EasyList Standard Tracking Protection List."
Finally, always make sure you have up-to-date security software and practice safe browsing habits. If you need help making sure you're computer is secure give JRD Tech a call or visit our website http://jrdtech.net/
PS: For people out there using Google Chrome (my preference) or Mozilla Firefox, you can visit http://adblockplus.org/en/ just click the big green button that says Install Adblock Plus and follow onscreen prompts.
