October is hurtling towards us, and that also means Chowderfest on Long Beach Island will soon be here. In fact, it will be here on Oct. 2. It’s the one event each year that I have attended pretty regularly since we started this blog thing. Yes, it can be very crowded, and yes, sometimes it rains that day. But the energy from the crowd and the different competing restaurants is quite infectious, and makes Chowderfest one of my favorite food events in South Jersey.
This year, once again, we are partnering up with the good folks at the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce to have a little contest. This time around, we are offering a pair of tickets to one randomly selected winner (we think all of you are winners, by the way – not making a judgment here).
How do you enter? Simple: leave a comment at the end of this post, on our Eating in South Jersey site, or on our Facebook fan page. We ask that you only post once, so please don’t try to stuff the ballot box. The contest will end on Thursday, Sept. 29 at midnight, so you only have a week to enter. Good luck to all who enter!

Love Chowderfest, Love LBI. We have been trying to get to some of the restaurants to sample their chowder before the main event. It's a great day!

Steamed clams, garlic clams are certainly the best, but there is nothing like clams at the Chowderfest
