Weekend Events in Lacey Township
Farmers' market, 5K, flea markets, yard and bake sales, and football
With temperatures still reasonably warm and plenty going on, enjoy your weekend out and about in Lacey.
According to the National Weather Service, this weekend will be sunny with temperatures in the high 60s.
Friday
Jersey Fresh Farmers’ Market
Today is the last day Jersey Fresh Farmers’ Market will be open.
Stop by Community Hall in Forked River from noon to 5 p.m. to purchase fresh produce including vegetables and fruit.

Saturday:
Annual 5K
The township’s annual 5K will take place at 8:30 a.m. at Gille Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m.
Over 100 residents registered for the race but the township is anticipating over 300 to participate.

Flea Market
The Lacey United Methodist Church will be holding a community flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Refreshments will be available and the church’s thrift store will also be open.
This event is held monthly. Vendors can purchase space for $10 and a table for $5.
Retreat
The Catholic Women of Zion Chapter II of Ocean County is hosting a mini-day retreat at St. Pius the Tenth Parish Roman Catholic Church in Forked River from 8 a.m. to noon.
The day will start with mass at 8 a.m. There will be a prayer service, music, sharing, networking and lunch. Maria Stock of Himberg & Stock will be the featured guest speaker and will discuss the first few chapters of James.
Admission is $15.
Yard Sale
The Lacey Food Bank is holding their annual yard sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Community Hall on the corner of Route 9 and Lacey Road.
Spaces will be available to the public on a first come, first serve basis for $10. Residents can sell their items or choose to donate them to the Food Bank Treasure Tables.
All donations can be dropped off at Community Hall starting at 8 a.m.
Refreshments will be available.
All proceeds benefit the Lacey Food Bank, a non-profit volunteer organization that has served the community for over 25 years.

Bake Sale
Popcorn Park Zoo will be holding their first annual “So Long Summer” yard and bake sale at the Associated Humane Societies shelter from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dogs up for adoption will be walked around throughout the bake sale.
Football
The Lacey Township High School varsity football team will be playing at home against Brick Township at 1 p.m.
Lacey opened their season against Wall Township on Saturday, Sept. 10 and lost 21-14. This loss ended the Lions 13-game winning streak.
Sunday
Flea Market
The Lacey Elks will be holding a flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their location on Beach Boulevard in Forked River.
Vendors can reserve a table for $10.
Admission is free.
