Visit Lacey Patch at 7:30 p.m. for live coverage of the Board of Education meeting
In the first meeting of 2013, the Board of Education will convene in the Lecture Hall at Lacey Township High School. Visit Lacey Patch at 7:30 p.m. for live coverage.
This month, the board will be voting on a policy that restricts staff members' use of social networking sites.
The policy states that staff members should be advised that any communications, publications, photographs or other information that is deemed inappropriate by the board could be cause for firing of non-tenured staff or to certify tenure charges.
The policy continues to break down what is and is not appropriate use of social networking sites.
At Tuesday’s board meeting, the retirement of Lanoka Harbor Elementary Principal Rosemarie Bond will also be approved.
Details to follow on these actions and more during live coverage and after the meeting.

Proud, in order for the school district to dismiss a staff member with tenure, it would have to file tenure charges. Tenure charges can be filed for conduct unbecoming, inefficiency, incapacity or abandonment of job. It's a long and costly process similar to a court case that includes hearings and attorneys.
