Two Lacey Men Charged With Assaulting Bike Rider

After a two-day investigation, Lacey police find that the aggravated assault was a result of an altercation that occurred earlier on Sunday, June 24

Two Forked River men were arrested in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred on Sunday, June 24.

Gary Clark and Nicholas Granberg, both 21, were arrested after a two-day investigation of an assault that occurred on Riviera Drive in Lanoka Harbor at approximately 8 p.m.

When police responded, they found a 45-year-old man lying in the street. The victim was assaulted while riding his bike, police said. He was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center’s trauma center for a head injury and released the following day.

Statements gathered during the investigation revealed that the assault was the conclusion of an altercation that ensued earlier in the day. 

Clark and Granberg were charged with aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim, both third degree charges. Both were released on their own recognizance pending a court appearance.
