Overpayed liberial judges , who don't pay into the NJ Pension fund as that's the old rule's they were hired under...and the trough they feed from , they let 'em out so they can see them again and again ...so they ARE needed....see we need you ! Revolving door justice in the USA , top country to develope the justice system, build more jails...it's a business , send us your crimminals , we will house them, feed them and give them medical coverage..but YOU Vets..see what you get from your country's VA system..red tape and a hard time...every time...Hurryup and wait !

Liberal judges? What are you talking about, OC is as Red as it gets and as I recall, it's those self same red zoners in congress who want to slash vet benes. Wow. The GOP loves the new corporate prison model, and want to turn our schools into the same structure. It's all about public financing and private profit for them.

@Abby Normal: "It's all about public financing and private profit for them". This is a true statement in many instances, but it is just as true for the Democrats. I am forced to subsidize public schools even though I will never use them. There is no substantial difference between the two parties. They just pick different parts of the Constitution to violate. And both parties love bailing out Wall Street (privatizing profits; socializing losses) and bombing foreign countries, so you're picking your poison either way!
Like I have said before, the land of the free and home of the brave imprisons more people (both per capita and in absolute terms) than any other nation on earth. Our laws are the problem. We have way too many of them, though the one's allegedly violated here are essential to the operation of a free country.

@mary ann: thanks for the kind words.
@FRP: perhaps if I were independently wealthy, I would move (myself and my whole family) to a nice little spread along the Snake River at the base of the Grand Tetons in WY. But I am not, so I can't. I can however enjoy the smaller pleasures of life by riling a state worshiping piney from FR.

if there is not enough room in our prisons for people like him, maybe jail should be allowed to be a little more unpleasant so they will try a little harder not to go there.
Then after he has done his time he can go live at Jake's house

Place his picture on a wall of shame over the prescription drop box at the police station for all to see. Then the local judge should order him to do community service by being ordered to be placed in STOCKS in front of town hall for the next 10 weekends from sunup to sundown. Jail just provides a place to sleep and eat during the winter when no one else will give you a bed. That is why they call it "Hooper Hotel". Public disgrace may force him to hit HIS bottom before he takes his own life by suicide or drug use.

Im so sick of everyone making it seem like these addicts are the victims because of their "disease." Nobody put the pill in the mouth or the needle in their arm the first time they did it. I understand addiction and have dealt with it with friends. Its not something I feel sympathy towards. These people made their beds and now have to lay in it. I shouldnt worry about leaving my wife alone because some crackhead might break in. Addicts did this to themselves, they werent born addicts.

your all clueless... i probaly felt like all of you at one time !!!! and no they were not born addicts ... nope not at all.... but by bad choices and being uneducated in the area of addiction , im sure they never dreamed this would be the life they would be living ! and im sure it is a heartache for his family.

I think Jake is high right now, not making much sense, in this day and age we have been educated to death about addiction, most addicts have a co occurring mental illnesses and we need to take the stigma away from that too, and we need to get to the deeper root, this new wave of rx addiction, greed! The big pharmaceutical CEO s are not addicts

Lets blaming or pitty the individual made the choice to do drugs , wasn't born an addict..He made the choice to illegally break into someones home..The only thing he has going for him ,He is still breathing & mommy didn't have to identify him by his dental records . These guys are going to break into the wrong house.
