Mindy Lynne Morley of Lacey Township recently participated in the ninth annual Paws for Cancer.

The event, which took place at First Energy Park in Lakewood on Sept. 16, featured a dog walk for cancer and other activities. More than 2,500 people and vendors participated, Morley said. Rescue organizations received donations, dogs were adopted, and there were costume contests as well as agility and obedience demos.

All proceeds benefited a regional cancer center and local therapy dog foundations, Morley said.
