Four Arrested After Two-Week Narcotic Distribution Investigation
Two were charged with intent to distribute heroin and distribution within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School
Four Forked River residents were arrested in relation to a two-week narcotic distribution investigation, Detective Sgt. Chris Cornelius said.
A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Friday, April 27 that led to the arrest of Ashley Frank, 19, Matthew Lonsdale, 30, Charles Dekker, 23 and Kurt Thatcher, 21. Following a search of the vehicle, police found narcotics including heroin, hypodermic syringes and other assorted drug paraphernalia.
Frank and Lonsdale were charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and distribution within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School.
Dekker was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe. He also had an outstanding $25,000 Ocean County warrant.
Thatcher was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Lonsdale and Thatcher were released on summonses. Frank was sent to the Ocean County Jail on $50,000 cash bail and Dekker was sent to jail in lieu of the warrant.
Frank has been previously arrested in relation to an alleged car burglary and received a summons for failure to return found or mislaid property in May 2011.
Lonsdale was arrested in February and charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after a Clairmore Avenue drug raid.
Dekker was indicted in September 2011 for breaking into a building on F street, theft and criminal mischief.

I dont know who Ashley is but I do know if she is hanging out with Matt Lonsdale there is no chanve for her to EVER get the help she needs .. Matt took my daughter who never touched a drug in her life and he dragged her down with him .. I am not just sayin this because he ruined my daughters life but i have seen and heard that Lonsdale will use anyone for anyhting and everything he possibly can get from the, .. he wouldnt care if someone never used heroin in their life if he knew he could get high if he gave them some he would do it in a heartbeat.. i dont understand why he isnt in jail .. he gets in trouble over and over again and keeps being back on the streets hours later ... He needs to be put away for a very long time . I hope your friend gets the help she needs

Addiction is a disease..just like any other disease jail is not the cure .... Therapeutic alternatives for addicts that are non violent offenders is the answer....

they actually do offer a program for non violent drug offenders, drug court, and it works... so PADDLER, you couldnt be more wrong, ive seen first hand that drug court changes lives that you would otherwise think impossible to do, its the fact that they arnt in jail and are still able to be out in society that keeps them clean cause the whole time there in the program they have the jail sentence hanging over their head if they mess up. its the drugs and addiction that make them steal and makes them unhonest, take the drugs out of the picture and you have a normal person just like yourself that deserves a chance, as long as they stay clean.

yes i dont think that jail is neccessarily the answer either but only if you are caught with drugs that they are planning on doing .. if they are selling them to others to do than that does deserve jail time.. I have a heroin addict who is related to me and i think the ppl who were sellin her it at 16- 17 years old do deserve to be in jail .. she was a child

THE disease is not in there genes ,Drug most with young kids is not addiction to pain meds,,It iis let try this stuff & see they enjoyed the high , the addicion started probably after the 4th & 5th time, The 3 guys are waste products.. let them go to jail & dry out. Jail will protect us from getting robbed to pay for there habiit

Drug use starts out as a conscious choice. Same thing with choosing to use/sell in a school zone. String them up. Keep it away from my kids. Don't feel bad for people who make continuous bad choices.

I doubt they were sellin in the school zone .. it says it was a part of a 2 week investigation .. the cops just decided to wait and pull them over while they were in it so they can give them a worst charge

i wrote a comment and for some reason it is pending approval so let me try to re word what i wrote :
It says that Lonsdale was arrested back in February 3 months ago for possession of Heroin .. now again for the same thing and he was released on a summons .. maybe that is why these ppl keep doin what they are doing . . they get caught selling drugs and are released a few hours later .. I dont necessarily think that a long jail sentence is what these ppl need .. they should be sent to a long tern rehab program . . . unless they were caught in the act of sellin the drugs .. Obviously the system is not working b/c these ppl are arrested over and over again and they just keep doing the same thing... It also caught my eye that a 30 year old "man" is doing heroin with a 19 year old child.. that alone is disgusting and wrong.. I hope they get the help they need

Cops don't decide punishment they do the arrest the courts do the rest so you can't blame them. Addiction is an illness and jail doesnt help. I've read drug court does help. After 1 offense drug court should be mandatory. I also Agee with poster who said waited til they were in school zone. I don't know this group but know others like it and makes me sick they never get charged with anything that sticks because their daddy is a cop. They have ruined so many young people's lives.

I say thank God for the Lacey Police!!! they are doing their job and doing it well. As for this guy Lonsdale.. get rid of him.. lock him up for good.. whats wrong with the court system for letting him go all the time.. hes out to ruin any one he can as long as he gets his money for the drugs and has a following from people who need it.. This guy is evil and is taking this town down each and every day he is out there and taking our children and turning them into herion zombies.!!!! OMG People, of course these loosers belong in Jail, thats not the question. But how many of you would like to sit in jail without a fair trial. Thats the way it goes, innocent until proven guilty( no need for the backlash I think they should rot in jail , after a fair trial). I dont want them going a changing something thats been in place forever. God forbid one of u people get accused of doing a crime you are innocent of. Then I want to hear why is he not in jail before his trial????

Yes I agree with you that everyone deserves a fair trial .. but I unfortunately know Mr. Lonsdale b/c like i posted earlier my daughter met him years ago .. and he dragged her down with him .. Im not saying my daughter did not have her own mind but when you have someone like Matt trying to get you to mess up and do the things he is doing so he has someone else to buy what he needs for him it makes it a lot easier .. I dont know why but through the years Lonsdale has gotten in trouble so many times i can not keep track .. and He has not once been sentenced to jail time for any of it .. so yes he has to be working in some way with the police to keep himself out of jail ... My daughter was arrested and went to jail because he chose to take heroin and he overdosed and she woke up to him not breathing and called an ambulance to save his life.. So she was sent to jail for doing the right thing in the situation she was in yet Matt keeps getting caught with drugs and does no time at all .. Something is wrong with the way things are going with that situation... I hope the ppl involved that are sitting in jail right now stay there for long enough to get their head clear and realize what they are doing will get them nowhere at all!

Addiction is a disease. We will never win the war in drugs unless we concede that fact. Drug Court is a successful program designed to help non-violent drug offenders. Participants are required to complete drug treatment, attend AA/NA meetings and obtain gainful employment. If they do not comply with these very strict requirements, they are sentenced to State Prison. So, Drug Court is a win/win. Of course, substance abusers need to want to get the help or they will end up reoffending or worse.

I think taking the road to addiction is a choice. But if you'd like to think of it as a disease, then treat it as a contagious one - and lock up the "infected" people so they don't spread their disease..... like what happened to Dawn_me's daughter.......

So dawn, I understand you have hardship with mr Lonsdale but uh instead of sitting on your computer complaining about how Matt's a scum bag....why don't help you help your daughter, Danielle. Who obviously has problems too. It's like the pot calling the kettle black. I understand your point of view but obviously drugs are addictive and it's a disease. we have been going through this for many years now .. and yes it is easy to point the blame at others .. I know that it is not Mr lonsdales fault that she began using drugs but i do regret moving to this area everyday of my life b/c she had not touched a drug a day of her life until they were togetehr .. i know she made her own decisions but he is the one who could get them.. yes it is hard to get over that .. I lost my daughter for a long time .. i am a supportive mother and this last time she started messing up was there for her 100% .. she is going to a detox/rehab program and hopefully from there will decide to stay in and continue to get as much rehabilitation as she possibly can i def will be pushing for it .. I always hoped Matt would get the help he needed and do right .. but i just never got to see it ..I still hope him nothing but sobriety and hopefully one day soon he will get sick of living the way he has been and stick with being and staying clean

it is really annoying when people try and blame other people for getting there kids hooked on drugs, regaurdless if they were 16 17 or 35. the drug user CHOOSES to try the drug, unless someone puts a gun to your head and ties you down and injects drugs into you then it was YOUR CHOICE. i dont doubt that this kid is probably a junkie low life, but everyone has free will, and if you choose to get high, its your OWN fault.

Hey Dawn let's talk about Danielle... I suppose you forgot to mention that when her and Matt she had a baby with some guy that she was married too... Or was suppose to be married too. Has she ever had custody of her daughter? That should say it all right there. If she wasn't fit to care for her daughter when she first had her obviously not only does she not value her daughters life but she never valued her own. Most people when they have kids want to at least clean up for the kids. It's seems that Danielle has always been a fuck up. So let's talk about that! Suck on that!

i dont know where you are getting your info from but obviously you are friends with matt when she began seeing him yes she had her daughter .. so im sorry but you are wrong.. she was with her daughter everyday living with her up until she started going down the wrong path .. and again you got it wrong no she never had her rights taken from her .. Danielle signed over her rights to her sister when she realized that she couldnt get control over her own life.... I hope everyone involved gets the help that they need and that is including mr lonsdale ... if you had a child you would feel the same way if they were in the situation ... good luck to you

This is for all the people out there that think you,your kids & grandkids are so perfect.But one day it could be your children or grandkids or even you who are dealing/ using drugs or alcohol right in your own back yard or better yet, right in your house. So all of you that are making judgement calls should always remember this " what goes around comes around " . KARMA .I'd be very careful on how you judge others. I would like to know then if you would want your loved one to get tossed in jail for along time without getting the proper trial or help that they need for their "addiction"? I don't know the people that got arrested but I certainly do agree with you that this drug dealing/using in Lacey has to stop.This town has a real problem. It has for a very long time. But there are a few of you here on LP that think that these people are the only ones in Lacey that are dealing/using drugs.Are you kidding? I find it hard to believe that they are the only ones doing that. Have you ever heard what they call Lacey High School? It's called Heroin High School .Wow! Imagine that! That's one of the biggest problem areas around here. It looks like there are corrupt things going on right in your own LHS. Do you think it could be your relative thats dealing/selling or using in the hallways & bathrooms of Herion High School? It very well could be your kids (who you say) do nothing wrong that is dealing.I don't believe it's the ones that are mentioned above.Too old for HS students!!
