Mr Starodub's pension should be more than that considering he developed one of the best school systems in the State!!

Just the tip of the iceberg. As the government run education system continues to dumb down the population the government "public servants" continue to line their pockets with the tax money that the dopey apathetic rule following citzens pay. Stay home on election day, continue to whine about how they're "all the same", continue to work and pay your taxes dutifully and they will continue on the greedy path to their retirement. The money is running out though, as the tax base shrinks with high unemployment in private industry. Check out Europe (Greece) where it's already coming apart. The path is simply unsustainable. As for Al - he must be on the public dole and is just plain stupid. Lacey is NOT one of the BEST school systems in the state. It's OK but NOT one of the best. He did however, succeed at building an empire of high paid administrators, that WE will support with lucrative greedy pensions upon their retirement. Again, it is simply unsustainable, be prepared.

The Lacey School System at one time was good, but has deteriortated greatly over the years. Look at the ratings. It was given a 5 out of 10 based on it's standardized testing. Community wise two out of five stars. It's currently this year performing only 43.5 percent as good as other schools. I've seen kids that have passed with B's yet need basic math and english before they can begin college classes. And, on a different note someone needs to take a look at their sports programs, specifically their baseball program. Nice beating they took yesterday by Manchester. Maybe, if they got real coaches instead of the Mohar an Biel Duo they'd win some. These two don't coach, they patronize by playing boys with less talent, over kids that should not be sitting the bench. A good amount of the boys moved up to Varsity have no business being their. And, looking at the JV team they are following the same trend. Patrionizing parents who they are all friendly with. No one talks about the letter that circulated last year wanting these coaches replaced? Kids with real talent got so disgusted they left to play other sports because of all the politics Mohar and Biel have played over the years. I know it's on a different note but the school system itself / sports and all have just gone down hill. Koman was a coach, these guys are a joke. College coaches won't even come out to look. Hopefully, the new super will correct some of the corruption so other kids won't suffer.

Continued: Just wanted to say it wasn't like this in Lacey when I was younger. The schools were good. The teachers cared and often stayed after on their own time to help kids struggling. And, when you played a sport and got moved up or got playing time you earned it. They also taught sportmanship. Didn't matter how good you were, if you did something wrong or didn't show up for practice you sat the bench. Didn't matter who your parents were either. You played based on your talent, not the politics these two play. Look into it. Very very good baseball players have just thrown their hands up and given up because of these two clowns and their politics. And, it's not right. Al, this was back in your day when you taught. Things were different then.

What you all forget is that a contract is a contract....Just because the times now are tough...doesn't mean something negotiable should or could be changed ...I know of no one else out there that would go to a job offer and say..."OH NO...Don't pay me that much....I will take 1/2 of it"...GET REAL! We are lucky we had someone as Honest and respectable as Mr. Starodub...

Exactly why the BOE members must be replaced. In private held businesses employees normally BUILD THEIR OWN RETIREMENT THROUGH RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS. On the supers. 6 figure salary how much did he contribute to that massive pension. The BOE is freely giving away taxpayers money. Money another individual earned. It's an absolute disgrace. Taxpayers are ripped off at all levels of government. The non-voting public is to blame along with the BOE.The house of cards will eventually tumble, there isn't enough money to pay for the promises. Retirees with morals!!!! Run against the BOE members. This is a rude awakening to all. Its an incestual relationship. Union training, elect BOE members supportive of union that appoint supers with lucrative contracts. A circle of money that leaves out "the children". Mom & dads don't get involved for fear of retribution. Sure no one would walk away from an offer like that but it shouldn't be offered in the first place. The BOE didn't earn that money & shouldn't be having a free for all with it! Shameful. @ Kathy we are well aware a contract is a contract. We all know he did it "for the children" . Remember the cut backs on field trips and books! What a joke. we see what the priorites are. Employee benefits & paycheck. Don't cry about your 7 hour days, endless vacations, personal & sick days, 180 workdays free benefits etc. Many waiting to step in those jobs. Investigate giving answers to tests! Straight A's? It's a sham!

If he was collecting $122,254 when he retired in October what the hell was he making before he retired. I agree with TP. And, Yes, TP I also agree school system is OK but not the best. It's adequat at best. Courtesy grades, courtesy sports positions, as well as courtesy jobs. And, ridiculous pensions.

I totally agree with TP......No wonder the state is broke! Multiply this scenario times how many school districts are in this state and we see what is going on. Most people honestly can care less.... yet they complain about property taxes rising out of control?? GREED, Entitlement mentality, etc. etc. They use "the children" as a front to justify all the spending. We all know where most of the budget monies go!! Salaries and top notch benefit packages. It is really disgusting.

Yeah Koman was great, what a loss when he left. It'll take years to build a decent bb team up if they get rid of them. to bad.

You want kids to work hard, go to college, and get degrees....but then when they earn a great salary as adults and you disagree with how they do things you will blast them in the media and take jabs at how much they make. People work hard and earn degrees so that they can earn a pension that they deserve. Sounds like jealousy to me.

Right on Gabe let her contribute. I think of our guys overseas going through hell who are paid crap and tossed aside when the return home & get a pitence for a pension. The BOE should hang their heads in shame over approving contracts with payouts like this. It's legalized robbery of the taxpayers. He wasn't worth it. Many professionals out there would jump at that job for half that pension. The kids are being shortchanged education wise while the pigs are feasting at the trough. It's nauseating.

If this is the case...why are we encouraging our kids to go to college knowing when they get out they will owe between $70,000 to oh lets say $120,000 in student loans...and the jobs are paying minimal....be real about it!....I wish everyone here had to disclose who they really are...

@ Carolos. You're not kidding. Drive by a couple of the players houses and see whose cars are parked out there hanging out with the parents. Everybody loses, but to lose like this team has been losing shows they aren't playing the kids that deserve to be there. For a Varsity team to have I think 15 strikeouts to a marginal pitcher from Manchester is disgraceful. And, look into their Diamond Club to see where the $$ goes. Yeah, I'd love for parents to speak up and get rid of these clowns. Kids have suffered, that were good ball players but just lost their desire after these guys continually knocked them down for players not as good as them. Just took all the wind out of them to see kids like you said that are younger, but more importantly not as talented. And, how does someone on the clock ride around with their child in a golf cart on company time. You would think that would be a liabliity to the school. Don't know many that can bring their child to work.

I agree, the Diamond Club should be looked into, I hear it pays for Golf outings, and other perks for the people in the "clique" down at their Myrtle Beach trip.........I also agree with these two coaches being the worst I've ever seen. They have killed the kids desire to play, just look at their Baseball picnic last year, maybe 15 kids showed out of 3 teams? But nothing will be done since I hear the AD is in tight with them also.

@ Sally don't mind good earnings, but too much has been overlooked in Lacey School Systems. Mr. S was right there when it was happening. Should have never happened. Someone should have stopped the nonesense long ago. The courtesy grades given to kids just to pass them. Have you seen how they test? They review the test the day before, give them the answers to study and next day they all pass. You'd have to be an idiot not to pass. Now, these same kids getting ready for college can't even pass the acue placer, to be able to take college level courses. Not Jealous ANNOYED. And, no jabs. Take a look and an interest in what is happening in the baseball at that school. It's disgusting. Kids just giving up because they know they can't get past the politics Mohar and Biele play.

It's horrifying when you wake up to the fact that college is just another big business. It's all about the $$$$. When the President of Rutgers stepped down a year or two ago he was making $550,000. You wonder why tuition is so high. Government is to blame to pumping money into the colleges through student loans. The more $$$ coming in the higher the tuition goes. Pretty sick and these kids have no clue anymore. College grads are a dime a dozen. Big business, big money that's what it's become. Another bubble ready to burst.

@ Carlos. I heard the super was ready to listen as well. Problem is that parents call, give their names and it's their kids who suffer after should the name of the complaintant get out. I know the kids who left bb to play another sport, had these kids since tee ball. The parents keep their stats. These are kids that played and started on "A" division travel teams with championships yet they sit for kids that haven't proven themselves. I wish ALL invovled would call to complain but I don't think it will happen because of the fear of reprecussions for their kids. Maybe, after graduation they'll let it all out. The school needs to get rid of Mohar and Biel and get two fresh coaches in without ties, and do all new tryouts and shake things up. As you said it will take years to build a good program, but it's a start. I know you know, but so other's know Koman when he coached brought this school to a championship. Their first in 20 years. These two clowns are doing nothing but running the program into the ground.

@TMTOYH - Yes! The schools ARE giving answers to tests!! My daughter-in-law recently told me that my grandson had a review sheet for a reading comprehension test and it had all the answer on it. So when the children take the test they know which multiple choice answer to pick? What kind of reading comprehension is that!! That was in the elementary school. So, this is going on in the high school too? I assume that is what you were referring to. I'm extremely disheartened. Now to see how the parents, taxpayer etc. have been dooped by the "it's all for the children" mantra by the BOE and the Administration. Oh my, this is just awful. Unfortunately many below par students are being pumped out in to society. I agree, this is not jealousy. EARNING a huge pension is one thing but the public schools are just not up to snuff to warrent this excess. There is too much Federal and State intervention in the curriculum. It's become and agenda driven curriculum based on political social agenda's in too many of the schools throughout the country. Public education has to move back to local driven control of curriculum and the unions must go. It's not the teachers it the unions and the bureacracy that is tying the hands of the educators. Something is wrong if the teachers are reduced to giving answers to tests. Of course family support is also necessary for a succesful student. Back to basics is paramount.

Whose playing cards with who, whose father know this one or is up the coaches butt even before they hit high school or the big diamond club donors or better yet whose relative is on the school board. They bump well deserving players for marginal players and it's not right. They've knocked the heart out of the kids that have earned the right to play just so they keep in their inner circle. How'd that work out for them? Loss after loss. I say pay Koman what he's worth and get him back here to clean the crap up these guys made. Talk about the six or more troublesome teachers who are being paid NOT to go to school!!! Not fair for the ones who do go, spend their own $ on supplies, stay after to help the students who need it and don't get as much as a thank you from admin. Hard work goes unrewarded in Lacey - and that includes the students who study hard and don't get good grades given to them. Don't complain either cause it will only hurt your child in the end. See all the kids of family and friends of admin on scholarship night. There are many that have inside accurate information about this program and it's failures. NO ONE will talk openly / giving their names or go to the super for fear of reprecussions on their children. If they know they won't get hurt and they can stay anonymous, you may have a good story to print. Good kids are and have gotten screwed. It's not right and needs to be stopped. It's too late for most of these kids, but for the up and coming Lacey needs a change. Play the players on ability not on who knows who or who is related to who. What do you think Elaine P? @ concerned parent. It's not the parents without the balls. Some of kids still in the school system and they are afraid of having them alienated or reprecussions for the parent speaking out. I can tell you ALL of the parents would have no trouble talking, but quite a few still have kids in the system and do not want them to have to pay for speaking up. Maybe, an organized group? If all are willing to talk together may work, but you'll have some that will still not want to due to kids still going to school there or younger grades, then you'll have a handful or more that will which won't help. If anyone is interested in doing something send me a note with your ideas etc. I think we can get more to come forward by assuring them their names will not be brought into it. Department upon department, regulation upon regulation as been created, grown, and employed hundreds of thousands of overpaid government employees with out of control benefits and pensions. All at the expense of we the people. Taxpayers. The empire is crumbling. The tax base is shrinking. The promised payouts are NOT SUSTAINABLE. You must register to vote. You must get involved at all levels. WE MUST SHIRINK THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT. Eliminate unneeded Departments that control our lives. Eliminate controlling regulations. Get back to the founding principals. The Government exists to protect the security of our country and to ensure the infrastructure. It does not and should not exist to monitor every aspect of our lives. We should not have to get government approval for every move we make. We must get back to PERSONAL responsibility. Only then will this country again flourish and prosper. Wake up register to vote and vote only for candidates that agree that we must SHRINK the size of government and regulations that are strangling us. No longer can you say that "they're all the same" and use that as an excuse not to vote. We're losing our country. Save it for your kids sake. Wake up.
Use alternative news sources. Turn off Matt Lauer and the like. They speak the government talking points.

"While we are unable to comment on individual cases, we would like to assure patients there is a procedure GP practices need to follow before they can remove patients from their lists.”

Even the hospitals and doctors are not free to think and act independently. They have their overlords as well.

Well brother, you asked for it.
