A Silver Alert was issued after the man was reported missing by his wife at 7 p.m. July 5. The man had left in a car.

State Police located him at Vincentown in Southampton Township, which is approximately 37 miles west of Lacey, at 9 p.m. The man was located safely at the Vincentown Diner and turned over to his family members.

Lt. Scott Tirella provided the following information:

July 3

While being searched during his arrest, police said they found Barney to be in possession of a small amount of heroin.

He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and shoplifting and sent to Ocean County Jail with bail set at $2,500.

A silver alert is not a laughing matter. Alzheimers is a debilitating disease that I hope you or your family members never experience.

Wow! You find this funny??? Shame on you! When someone has dementia, they don't know where they are or where they are going. They can't make decisions. May you never experience this nightmare. But if you ever do, please don't forget laughing!

Failure to maintain a lane is just a crock of bs for a reason to pull someone over.
