First Responders Fund Set Up at Wells Fargo
Stop by Wells Fargo to donate to Lacey's emergency services
An account to benefit Lacey’s first responders has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank. Anyone can stop in and make a donation, said Lisa Zarra of Lanoka Harbor.
“First responders need equipment,” she said. “They’re all volunteer and run their equipment on donated funds.”
After Hurricane Sandy, Zarra felt driven to do something for the first responders.
She was involved with the Lacey United Methodist Church behind the scenes, she said.
“I wanted to go a step further. I’m a community-oriented person,” she said.
The church has an overabundance of supplies, she said.
“They are really overwhelmed,” she said.
The Lacey Dive Team, for example, is in need of new equipment but there hasn’t been room in the township budget, she said. Additionally, the firehouses and EMS squads have needs as well, as equipment was damaged in the storm.
“What a better way to thank them,” she said. “They can spend it how they want. They know what they need.”
To make a donation, visit Wells Fargo at 750 W. Lacey Road and make payable to the First Responders Fund of Lacey. The account will remain open for approximately three months before the funds are evenly distributed to the emergency services.

Just want to point out any equipment that was either lost or damaged will be replaced via FEMA if the paperwork is correctly done and submitted in the allowable time. Along with the OT of Public Works, Police and any other department that had to go past their normal schedule shifts.

100% of donations were deposited at Wells Fargo and will be distributed 100%.
All expenses, stamps, envelopes, flyers and legwork were completely at my expense.
