Police Arrest Four After 260 Bags Of Heroin Found In Car During Traffic Stop

Arrests happened after search of car at intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue, police chief says

Two Forked River residents are lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, after Lacey Township detectives found 260 bags of heroin during a traffic stop, Police Chief David A. Paprota said,

William Shelby Jr., 28, Clubhouse Drive and Diane Marie Cannito, 48, Deerhead Lake Drive, were both charged with possession of heroin, and intent to distribute heroin. The street value of the heroin is estimated at over $3,000, the chief said.

The driver of the vehicle, Brendan Gallivan, 25, 7th Street, Waretown, was charged with possession of heroin and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, Paprota said.

Lauren Jaegge, 23, Pine Tree Road, a passenger in the car was charged with possession of heroin. Both Jaegge and Gallivan were released on their own recognizance, the chief said.

The motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Lacey Road and Newark Avenue was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, Paprota said.

Lacey detectives were assisted by Patrolmen Charles May and Michael Eden. Two K‐9 officers from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department were used to locate narcotics that were hidden inside the vehicle.
