Community Alliance In The Chamber Of Commerce

Lacey Township's Chamber of Commerce holds monthly networking event at the Captain's Inn

Local business owners sat down over dinner to talk about upcoming events and business strategies.

The monthly networking event held at The Captain’s Inn is an opportunity for local members of the Chamber of Commerce to come together to brainstorm business ideas, learn new things from guest speakers, and organize fundraising events for the community.

“This is a good place to be,” said Lyle Smith, a specialist in mortgage purchasing and refinancing for Chase Bank and the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce.

“I have big hopes of growing this thing,” says Smotrycz.

With new technologies and social media challenges, the Chamber of Commerce helps businesses expand their knowledge. As a member of the Chamber, locals get the opportunity to attend business workshops and guest speaker events.

“I am getting a crash course on Twitter and my website tomorrow,” said Smotrycz.

Dan Desmond has owned Help-U-Sell real estate firm for 38 years. His wife, Debbie, also owns Forked River Florist and together, they attend these networking dinners.

“The community involvement is so important,” said Dan Desmond, “You get to interact with other business people while eating a great dinner.”
