Bulk Cleanup in Flood Damaged Areas Ends Saturday

Brush pickup continues through Friday, Dec. 7

The final day for storm-related bulk cleanup due to flood damage is Saturday, Dec. 1.

Because FEMA has placed limits on cost reimbursements, the township has to put deadlines on collection and cleanup services.

Any items, other than household items, placed curbside after Saturday will not be picked up and removal is the responsibility of the homeowner.

The township will continue its brush and tree pickups through Friday, Dec. 7. Brush placed curbside beyond this date will not be collected.

Brush should be cut into four-foot lengths and bundled, weighing no more than 70 pounds. Leaves must be raked and placed curbside.

Brush can also be dropped off at the recycling center seven days a week.

Existing Compost Drop Off Center rules will be reinstated effective Dec. 7, prohibiting landscapers, tree removal companies or contractors to deposit tree related debris including stumps, brush or wood chips.

Lacey township has really stepped up to thhe plate with the trash removal in the flodded areas. I can tell you from traveling all over Ocean County and seeing all of the trash being thrown out in Barnegat, Brick, Toms River and Manahawkin that they haven't even begun to dispose of the trash like Lacey has. Whom ever is responsible for the removal should be acknowledged. They really did a great job.
