Bayville Woman Arrested for Fraud

Bayville woman allegedly stole and used a Lacey resident's credit card

A Bayville resident was arrested for allegedly stealing and fraudulently using a credit card.

Michelle Della-Pietro, 32, was arrested and charged with burglary, theft of a credit card and fraudulent use of a credit card.

In February 2012, a Seabright Road resident reported fraudulent activity on their credit card. Police investigation led to the arrest of Della-Pietro.

Della-Pietro allegedly entered the victim’s home, stole the credit card and used it as her own, police said

She was sent to the Ocean County Jail with bail set at $35,000.

I think should give her a medal just for a least doing something with her life,if we did,nt have people like her we would not havto have jails, cop judges,n all the good hard working people, we need more scumbags, so we can get more tax money, then we can get a new K.F.C. Or a popeye,s chicken joint.... THATS JUST WHAT I Think

If she has a "medical condition" maybe a psychiatric facility would be better than jail-but she shouldn't be free to enter other peoples homes and steal stuff.

@Billy jones - I get that you feel for this woman, she has a mental illness. I don't know her and she didn't steal my stuff, so I don't care either way. That being said, mental illness is not an excuse to break the law. If she broke the law, which it appears she did, then she needs to deal with that. If that means she needs some meds and a psychiatric evaluation, than so be it. Either way, there are consequences for every action, she is not exempt. Further, blaming the homeowner for not barring their windows is irrational. Do you have bars on your windows? I hope so, I would have to see you make the mistake of being robbed.

If they do wrong, they get same treatment as any criminal, if they are that "ill" they shouldnt know how to steal a credit card and use it they should be facilitized.

What kind of mental illness causes someone to enter someone's residence, steal their credit card and then use it to buy themselves things in a store? That is the definition of a thief.

my brother is a MICA (mentally ill chemical abuser), so i consider myself at least partially sympathetic AND cognizant... but 100% regardless of EITHER condition, he would have no right to break into anyone's home or steal their things. you cannot excuse someone's blatant disregard of society's laws... sorry, sick, drunk or sober.

That doesn't make it ok for this woman to break into someone house. Regardless of her illness or addiction its her fault not anyone else's.

Ahh yes, the person who made her take the drugs. Damn the man or woman who pried open her mouth or stuck a needle in her and made her take the drugs. You sir are a moron. This lady is 100% at fault and needs to take responsibility for her actions whether or she was on drugs or has a medical issue, does not give her the right to do this.

A few things...I agree that people with illnesses should have the right to be evaluated and treated in a different manner than those who are knowingly disregarding laws and respect for their neighbors' property/safety, but this should NOT be seen as the fault of the person that was robbed. And it's her fault for not having bars on her windows?? I've lived in Lacey for over 23 years and know that most people DON'T have bars on their windows. Lacey has traditionally had a much lower crime rate compared to cities where people DO have bars on their windows. People choose to live in a town like Lacey so that they can enjoy living somewhere where they don't need to add aesthetically unappealing items (i.e. bars on windows) to their homes. The woman should be helped or punished in a manner appropriate with her illness and the woman who was robbed should NOT be blamed. End of story.
