Bayville Man Charged With Assault Again
Shoplifting arrests, burglaries and more
A Bayville man was arrested after police responded to a Lacey home on a report of a fight.
Lawrence Young, 18, was arrested at 5:49 p.m. Sept. 27 once police responded to a home on Ocean Street in Forked River for a fight between several juveniles.
While one individual attempted to break the fight up, Young allegedly assaulted him, police said.
Young was charged with simple assault, processed and released.
Young was previously charged with second-degree robbery and aggravated assault on Monday, Oct. 1 after he allegedly attacked a juvenile male.
Lt. Scott Tirella provided the following information:
Two 17-year-old females from Brick were arrested and charged with shoplifting. The two girls allegedly stole clothing valued at $75.85 of clothing at 3:47 p.m. from Walmart, police said. They were processed and released to each of their parents.
A home on Hollywood Boulevard was burglarized at 9:24 p.m. The resident, who was home at the time, heard someone inside and witnessed the suspects climbing out of her son’s bedroom window downstairs. Two suspects were identified and the incident is being investigated.
Police responded to the Bamber dam during the overnight hours on report of criminal mischief. Someone damaged the dam allowing water to pour through. The Department of Public Works responded and corrected the problem. There was approximately $100 in damage.
Sometime between Sept. 24 and Sept. 30, someone entered an Osprey Court home. Assorted personal paperwork and two bottles of prescription drugs were stolen. There was no forced entry.
Joseph J. Chirelli, 45, of Forked River was arrested after police responded to Lake Barnegat Drive North and Lacey Road at 8:30 p.m. for a hit and run. Chirelli allegedly struck landscaping and mailboxes while driving. He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident.
Danielle Ledweged, 20, of Forked River was charged with DWI. Police responded to the intersection of Carr Street and Steuben Avenue at 1:05 a.m. as a result of a complaint of a loud party in the area.
A boat parked behind a house on Taurus Court was entered and $5,400 of marina electronic equipment was stolen.
Erica Dinicola, 25, of Toms River was charged with shoplifting a cell phone valued at $175.98 from Walmart at 12:23 a.m. She was processed and released.
Bonnie Generally, 52, of Bayville was arrested for allegedly stealing $44 worth of merchandise from Walmart. She was processed and released on a summons.
A resident of Norwood Street reported that they left the home briefly and returned to find the rear sliding door forced off the track. Entry into the home was not gained. It is believed that the burglary attempt occurred at around 5 p.m.
David Schmidt, 33, of Forked River was arrested after a motor vehicle accident. Schmidt allegedly hit a parked car twice on Alpine Street at 7:28 p.m. He was charged with DWI, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and uninsured motor vehicle. He was processed, transported to the hospital to be treated and then released.
