Aug. 27: Basic Reminders As Hurricane Irene Hits Lacey Township

Township continues to encourage a voluntary evacuation

 

1. Lacey Township is still only under a voluntary evacuation. The township is encouraging residents who live near water to move inland or evacuate the area.

2. The Municipal Alliance’s 5K was postponed until Saturday, Sept. 17.

3. Home Depot will continue is continuing to get supplies in. Don’t forget to prepare emergency kits and purchase necessary items including batteries, flashlights, generators, and plywood.

4. The Lacey United Methodist Church plans to open as a shelter at 6 p.m. but may open earlier if the Red Cross requires.

5. The DEP confirmed that the township could continue to use the emergency access road on the south side of Beach Boulevard in July. Check back with Lacey Patch to see if the road will be open to residents today.

OPEN THE ACCESS ROAD NOW THERE ARE 1500 FAMILIES BACK THERE. BEACH BLV FROM RT 9 TO NEW BRIDGE HAS OVER 100 WIRES CROSSING OVER THE ROAD AT LEAST 3 PER TELEPHONE POLE
