For future reference everyone: it appears that a fire extinguisher fits the definition of a weapon according to the NJ penal code. Clearly, this fellow should not have hit anyone with the fire extinguisher; but just as clearly, a fire extinguisher is not a weapon.

what would " proud" do without copy and paste or their csi skills looking at time stamps to sweat what was said weeks ago about a hot dog stand.? you can always tell who the ones in this town with way too much free time on their hands are. whats next proud another comment about how white castle burgers arent healthy eating again? my guess is there is no last call they follow their own rules . good ole boy style. just make sure to wear a helmet if youre going to have a beer in there.

Alcohol Can not be served after 3am. It is state law for Friday and Saturday therefore no law is broken there.

So, who else thinks that the members that were involved in this fight should be tossed out on their butts. Forty something's are supposed to be adults, not act like 20 something.

No they haven't been "tossed" yet. At least one of them should be. Agreed that the Elks used to do a lot of good things for the community but they are riddled with in fighting and back stabbing. They are no longer focused on running charitable events, but they're focused rather on which good member they can screw next. Truly not a benevolent place. They should be watched more closely for the condition of patrons leaving the establishment, starting from 11 in the morning as the older members are drinking their own beer then wander upstairs for a few more.

Most of the ELKS establishments are good and serve a purpose and do plenty for others. HOWEVER - this is not the case here. This place is crawling with drunks that only go there to get trashed and reak havoc. It needs to seriously be revamped. The only things I ever see advertised is drinking related. I personally know a few people who joined soley for the drinking privelages. Hopefully they re think their purpose. Although they probably wont.

I must be out of the loop. I have never heard of any problems at the Elks in the past. Someone please bring me up to speed!!

when i read the ages i cracked up..come on now a bar fight you are adults! i dont belong to the elks but know they do good things for the community..my understanding that theses clubs are also a cheap place to drink...lol more bang for your buck

Hey wht trash do your homework about the situation. It's my understanding the only that got any kind of punishment from the elks is the one that hit with the fire extinguisher and the one that actually caused it is walking away squeaky clean. Now how fair is that

Being a member for almost 20 years, I take offense to the talk that is displayed in this column. If you are an Elk in good standing you would understand the problem. This is something that will be taken seriously by Lacey Twnsp.,but also the governing powers of the Elks. This kind of behavior is not tolerated nor welcomed at this establishment. Never has been, and I am certain will never be. For all that think they have a clue about the Elks, I suggest you Google them and read their history, and what they actually do. You might be surprised how many things are funded through the Elks in you local community. So before you judge an Elk,understand their purpose. And as far as people being drunk on premises,look around,their are a few taverns in town who violate that standard also. Think before you speak.
