Breaking: Minutes From Seaside Heights, Sandy's Destruction Still Apparent »
Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

SCOOTER is a 2-year old beagle who was rescued from a laboratory about a year and a half ago.  He dug out from under my fence (200 Block of Birch Lane, Forked River) on Monday night at around 10pm.  I saw him a little while later in the Game Farm, then again shortly thereafter on the corner of Juniper Lane and Sunset Drive.  He ran both times.  He is a very timid, skittish dog as a result of his laboratory days.  He probably will not come if called.  If you see him, PLEASE call ROXANNE at 732-859-5373.

UPDATE:  Scooter was seen in the woods along Railroad Ave. behind the CVS near Laurel Blvd. several times between 8pm - 9pm tonight (3/14).  Those wood run between the CVS and Walmart.

There were several sightings of him in the wooded area behind CVS in Lanoka Harbor tonight. I spent the past 2 hours out there, and saw him myself, but he ran. My husband and brother-in-law also saw him, but he runs too fast. He's out there somewhere between the CVS and Walmart, on Railroad Ave. I need to get ahold of a live trap to set out there with some food in it.

Did you try calling the Animal Control guy from Academy Pest control? He does have live traps. How does Scooter respond to other dogs?

I did call him. He said the only trap he has is too big (?) and he would try to get a smaller one. This was yesterday afternoon. I've heard nothing since. Scooter seems more comfortable with other dogs than people, probably due to his days in a laboratory. But I had my other dog with me last night and it didn't seem to help.
